Site's Main Purpose: Information
Please Review the following:
Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?
Does/can the site achieve its main purpose?
Navigation. Is it clear and easy to understand?
Appearance/Attractiveness
Typos and grammar
Images failing to load
Is the Contact, Privacy and Legal information adequate in relation to main purpose of site?
Additional Comments/Notes
Hi all,
A HR organisation that I have become involved in recently went online - currently we are looking to get some opinions on the site, so members have started asking around - any tips, suggestions for improvements etc would be greatly appreciated! I started posting this question on as many review forums as possible, and it would be great if for anybody to take a look at Thanks in advance!

As suggested above, I'm trying to get as many reviews as possible. Apologies if it seemed like we're promoting our site - but as you probably noticed, we are neither trying to sell a product nor a service

first off this is one of the beeter sites submitted for a review.
first off i would remove all references to third party service providers
1) joomla templates
2) joomla in the footer
3) and the link to siteground
gone gone gone...
in the footer keep "Human Rights Defence", but link it to your main page with the trailing slash and add a copyright reference.http://www.humanrightsdefence.org/
then I would work on customizing the titles and meta tags for each page
click on the "join us" link and you will see that the text is going off the template and behind the right column content
you need to install a URL rewrite component link artio, or sh404SEF, artio wil also let your customize the titles and metas for each page
and of course you need to redirect the non www domain to the www domain in the htaccess. You can get a duplication penalty for not doing this.
and don't let your designer charge you a fortune for this, the components are free and take 15 minutes to set up.
make all article titles links, again, its just a one click setting in the backend, no big deal
remove "Valid XHTML and CSS." from footer.
if your going to have multilingual articles, I would install one of the joomla translator components, they aren't perfect translations as that use google, but at least your readers will get a choice of 8 different languages and can translate articles on the fly..
newsflash module on the right is not working and the text goes outside the template
you could also install a mambot called joomSEO which will autogenerate titles and metas from page content.
Joomla can be configured to rank well on search engines!
