Name of Site/Business: Lone Tree Guide
Site's Main Purpose: Advertising (eg Banners, Google Adsense etc.)
Please Review the following:
Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?
Search engine marketing. Can the pages be reasonably well indexed by search engines?
Additional Comments/Notes
I'd like to see if you guys can give me tips on better SEO for the Directory section of the site. The categories are getting indexed a little but not as much as they should. None of the listing pages themselves are getting picked up for some reason.
Also, if this site were focused on the city you live in would it draw you in and make you want to participate? What can we do differently to get more people to register and participate in the various sections?
Please be brutally honest. Thanks in advance!

Hi, dmgchris, welcome to the forums. Thanks for jumping in and giving some reviews of your own already.
At first glance, I couldn't tell exactly what the site was about becuause I didn't know Lone Tree was a town.
On the home page, the constantly refreshing Welcome/Featured/Articles/Discussion box causes everything below it to keep jumping around, making it hard to read things.
You could make better use of your page titles, as SEs place weight on them. Also, while not all SEs use them, you should have relevant metas in place.
I couldn't find a privacy policy anywhere. That will stop some (like me) from wanting to register anywhere.
Also, your forums are not COPPA compliant, which could land you in a heap of trouble. vBulletin makes it easy to deal with COPPA. (Admin Control Panel / vBulletin Options / User Registration Options) I recommend you simply deny registration to anyone under the age of 13. It's not worth the hassle of dealing with parental consent to allow children under that age to register. Force them to enter a DOB and check a box that they are at least 13.

Thanks for the comments JQ. Fixed the COPPA setting, not sure why I had that disabled. I also added the Privacy Statement.
In terms of the automatically rotating tabs, are you suggesting I slow the rotation down? I tried to use a similar time per frame that the popular portals use or have used (like Yahoo and aol.com) - just around 7 seconds.
And as for the title tags, is that suggestion specific to the directory section? Because we used dynamic category names for the title tags and meta tags. Where did you find the title tags and meta tags were lacking?
Any other feedback?
Thanks again!
