Name of Site/Business: Dawn's Designer Baskets & Gifts, Etc., Inc.
Site's Main Purpose: Ecommerce/Sales
Please Review the following:
Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?
Does/can the site achieve its main purpose?
Navigation. Is it clear and easy to understand?
Appearance/Attractiveness
Typos and grammar
Search engine marketing. Can the pages be reasonably well indexed by search engines?
Additional Comments/Notes
I am STILL trying to come up with a home page paragraph that is keyword rich, but most importantly, relevant to the reader to encourage going into my site further.
I don't use frames, but given the competitive nature of this industry, I'm having hard time with organic SEO.
Very few of my pages have page titles. When I was uploading pics and descriptions to my site, I didn't know what a page title was, so I figured best not to mess with it.
I'm still adding products weekly, so my site is still a work in progress.
MY BLOG: I updated weekly, but webmaster had to switch servers, and I neglected to back up blog, so lost a lot of entries. Trying to catch up.
I'd like an RSS feed to my blog, if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I am trying to figure out if my site sucks and that's why no one is buying online with me after clicking me in Yahoo PPC, or if I am truly having a problem with a local (or outside of area) competitor(s) clicking me fraudulently (which apparently is a big thing in my industry).
Thank you.

oh my - and we start with the anthem I grew up with "Good better best, never let it rest, until your good is better and your better best" - I am glad to see that my better can now be blessed - but to I get extra for making *BEST*
Anyways, back down to the reviewing ...
First basic principle when writing (in my opinion) is to write in the third party. Don't *we* all over your pages. You have a key phrase rich business name, so brand it and use it.
EEK... just hit view source on home page... get rid of the huge meta description & keywords. Focus on overview and then use these appropriately on inner page - to reflect individual page content.
Do you have a sitemap? If not, get one, with plain text links - to back up navigation.
That's all I have time for at the moment... might do more exploring at another time. Good Luck.

Basketcase,
I thought since you gave me such an informative review I would try to give you a little useful info.
I like the variety of baskets you offer, something for every occassion. I love your pictures especially for the diaper cakes. Did you do those yourself? Your news articles are very informative.
I am not crazy about the background and would consider changing it to something a little more festive or decorative maybe. When I first went to your site it took a little longer to load than other sites. Although the fade to a new page is a nice touch I have found that a lot of ecommerce shoppers prefer to just get to the next page without any fancy stuff in between.
You said you wanted to make your homepage welcome more keyword rich. If you want some good free information on SEO optimization go to the SEO Fast Start site. This site offers a free download book on the basics of SEO and all you have to do is spread the word about his site. The book has a lot of great, easy to understand information. He will answer any questions you have and their is a lot of great information on the site just like their is on this site.
As for your blog, it seems like everything you write is a sales pitch for your site. I just recently started a blog and have been doing a lot of research on blogging.
Sorry, my toddler is requesting my full attention. I will get back to you about the blogging. I think I have a couple of things I can suggest you read.
Hope I was helpful.

Using 800 x 600 display and Firefox
Review of: Dawn's Designer Baskets & Gifts, etc.
Navigation Bar: violet with white text - OK
changes to green text on mouseover - bad choice of color (green & violet)
May want white background and violet letters on mouseover
Featured Products: thumbnails (click to enlarge - click a second time to enlarge - why twice ??
Left Side - navigation: good use of vertical dropdowns (but again may want to check color combination)violet over green lettering for selection ??
View source code:
May want to improve the description as search engines use the first part in search description
May want to choose better keywords - some search engines still use them
hope this helps
