I really liked your website. It is easy to navigate and I love the artwork. There are a few things I saw that you could fix and/or change. The Guestbook link is dead, so you should fix that. Also, you should think about optimizing your order page. Like by adding a contact form, you can get one from mycontactform.com. But overall I like your website and I think it has great potential. Good luck Irene!

Wow, Some very top notch art here. Of course you have heard that before I am sure. I even had my wife take a look.

What bothers me is you have this wonderful art and talent and it is not being put across more effectively.

1. Theres not much of a chance for an impluse buy from your site.
2. The site needs work. It has the color and flow but needs some work to make it presentable to buyers so they can realize you are a serious artist and have some quality to display.

I hope someone does not come along and zap you for a new web design that is very costly.

I agree with tarheel, your product is fantastic, but your artistic genious is not being related through the graphics and layout of your site.

……it’s the best I can do without using ‘buy now’ buttons.
2. The site needs work. It has the color and flow but needs some work to make it presentable to buyers so they can realize you are a serious artist and have some quality to display.
……..ok, got any detailed suggestions or recommendations?

…..LOL – not much chance on my budget!

Thanks for feedback Tarheel,

RE: did you pay for the site that we are looking at?

I did it myself struggling long and hard with FrontPage 2000, FrontPage 2000 for Dummies, much web advise/help and just blind luck from working in PhotoShop, PrintShop and a very small degree of HTML experience (at Ebay). I'm still learning and struggling but the examples of other artist's sites and help from folks like all of you here is making it happen slowly.

thanks,

Irene

Irene, Hi there... smile
I have worked with a few artists/photographers and misc. others... so I know a little about your passion and talents etc.

My suggestion to you is to not stress yourself about producing a website, but rather to tap into either a web designer that you feel will promote you correctly or into artist communities that will provide tools to showcase your work in a professional manner.

Instead of going the FrontPage/ DIY / Try to be a webdesigner route.. look at what is out there, stick to what you do and get with the buzz of what the web is all about smile

It's a great effort, but if sustainablity and possible profitability is a question then a better presentation would be required in my opinion. Otherwise, keep on going, keep on learning and good luck!

....yep, I did that at Yessysales....very professional....never sold anything there that I didn't personally promote....$60 a year to be on someone else's site. There are several places where I can pay by the month/year (like Yessy) to have a real professional looking site (I'm already using 3 free ones at my own site) and I've been considering opening an Ebay store again (I did that couple years ago).

Instead of going the FrontPage/ DIY / Try to be a webdesigner route.. look at what is out there, stick to what you do and get with the buzz of what the web is all about ....Hmmm, "the buzz"...."all about"....what does any of that mean in plain English? I'd get a lot more from feed back if it was explicit and detailed!
thanks,
Irene

I am not meaning to be rude or obstructive at all.

It is just my opinion that you might be better off with getting professional help smile

When we are talking about big ticket items, it might be better to engage professional expertise.

It's just like you are a specialist in what you do/produce..

you know, you could get a dynamite website that you could update yourself for the cost of just selling one piece of your artwork. now you may look and say that you can't afford to part with the cash from one single sale. but if you can find the right person for your site, you might sell fifty that you would have never sold otherwise. make the investment in yourself. Your time is better spent making more product than learning html, most of the pros here have been doing it for many years and its our accumulated knowledge that made us successful. I cannot learn to paint like you overnight amd you cannot learn html overnight, i would give to caesar what is caesars and do what you do best, cause your work is REALLY AWESOME
