Name of Site/Business: Treat-Cancer.nl

Site's Main Purpose: Information

Please Review the following:
Does the home page sufficiently convince people to go further into the site?

Does/can the site achieve its main purpose?

Navigation. Is it clear and easy to understand?

Appearance/Attractiveness

Typos and grammar

Images failing to load

Is the Contact, Privacy and Legal information adequate in relation to main purpose of site?

Search engine marketing. Can the pages be reasonably well indexed by search engines?

Additional Comments/Notes
Thank you very much for reviewing my site. I have spent much time editing this site. It teaches how to use flavonoids for cancer treatment. The site is very small, but to the point.

I want feedback and I want to know how I should improve my site.

Thank you!!!

I have recently reviewed some other sites. I wonder if anybody is so kind to review my site?

Thank you...

Just one more thing...

You may find that my site needs more background information in the beginning. More information about Quercetin for example. But the problem is that this site is not intended to give background information. It serves as a proposal / protocol for cancer treatment. The links point to sites that give background information. The problem is that the site needs to be very to the point, it must be taken very seriously too. I must direct all visitors attention to this "flavonoid cancer treatment protocol". Another thing is that I cannot give accurate information about anything other then this "flavonoid cancer treatment protocol" because I think I'm not credibile enough to give that information.

I did a quick review and found that you do not have a DOC, and the only meta you have is a title. I did not see any ALT tags. I also found misspellings."neighbour" is the one I remember seeing, there may be others. I think you could get more traffic with a different title tag - I could be wrong, not sure how many searches are done for the words cancer protocol.

I do however think you explain things very well, and in terms that most anyone can understand. The site lay out is good as well.

Americans are unfamiliar with litres and grams. You would do well to offer dual measurements e.g. "0.5L" and "1.05 pints" of water. Otherwise, the content is OK and to the point.

Hi ... I'm writing to you from China.

1) The site downloaded quickly from China
2) Don't like the fact that I have to scroll left to right to view
3) Personally, I would like to see a more catchy banner or title of your website. Like they way they market cigarette packages in North America - that's effective and catches people's attention. I am not suggesting that you put something so graphic in your banner, but perhaps you may consider making these words "www.treat-cancer.nl / Your guide to treating cancer with something natural" a bit bigger so that people know where they are and why they are there.
4) In this text: In the text underneath you will find a new flavonoid cancer treatment protocol. This protocol explains how to use flavonoids (that are extracted from plants and have proven anti-cancer abilities) for cancer treatment. ... Who's the authority saying this will work?
5) You say ... only approximately 20 dollars or between 0.5 and 1 dollar a day ... but which currency are you referring to???
6) If I were to comment on the content ... I think there are some terminology there are to be clarified i.e. what is quercetin?
7) I am not clear what actions you want people to take. Are you trying to educate or are you trying to sell?
8) I'm not sure I would believe in the treatment method ... there seems to be no authority referenced or anything.
9) Design could be improved upon for currently it seems like a webpage done by a student.
10) Some font is a little too small to read i.e. Note(s) Please be informed that there is no guarantee that this protocol will work. ... as well as the text found on the bottom of the page

Regards,

Thank you for your feedback. I would really like to improve the design. But I really don't know how. Does anybody know what steps I should take to improve the design?

By the way, the website looks great at home, but on low resolution screens (where no video card is present) it looks very bad. I don't know what causes this difference. The colors look great at home but on some computers it looks much less intense. I really don't know what can be done to make it better.

Okay, All I did was adjust the table width so you don't have to scroll horizontally. Your images should still work but you should make sure to save your old code too.

Quercetin is available in your country. You just have to search for it in particular vitamin shops. Search all vitamin shops in your neighbourhood and you will find it. Here you will find a list of Quercetin producers: Springfield, Jarrow, NOW. If you ask at the counter of the shop if they sell products from these vitamin producers you will find quercetin very soon. You can also search on the internet for local vitamin websites, they sell Quercetin too. Just search on google.net for quercetin but instead use the "pages from your country" option. If you still can't find Quercetin, you should email or telephone the vitamin producers.<BR>
<BR>
Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is sold in supermarkets and drug stores. Be sure you don't buy a timed release tablet, or it will not dissolve in water very well. You should not use buffered (non-acid) Vitamin C or calcium ascorbate or any altered Vitamin C or this protocol may not work. You can also buy ascorbic acid on the internet:<BR>

Ok thanks.

One more thing... Google analytics shows that the site generates very few conversions (less then 10%). Why is this and how do I improve this? Since this site does not sell anything, but only provides information, I would expect the conversion "rate" to be around 60%. Do visitors really dislike my site??? Why (is this because of graphics)? How do I improve this?

Or just maybe google analytics isn't giving me the correct numbers?

I reviewed your site ( again ) and do not see any of the changes people suggested to help your visitors "hang around".

bwicki gave you several really good suggestions & I explained about your meta tags.

you said "The links point to sites that give background information." I am not finding these links? I am finding warning, questions & answers and affiliate links, but not any links that you mentioned.

I still think your site is a good site, it needs some touch ups and adjustments here and there smile

Thanks...

I have tested the code laciemn posted, but it looked very small on my computer. I really didn't liked it so I haven't used it. I did made something that looks like a banner. The links I mention are the links labelled "Google search: Quercetin" and "Google search: Flavonoids". I have also placed links to 2 scientific articles (1 abstract). It should be enough to persuade the reader to believe that it's worth trying??? The font size looks exactly perfect on my screen at home. I don't know about the Meta Tags; I read that they are only optional. Are they really effective (do they really improve search engine rankings)???

Sorry for disturbing you...

I have edited my website. It now uses CSS stylesheets. I can see the difference!!!! The font problem is now solved. The font used to change between browsers, it was due to the fact that I still used <font> tags. Now I use CSS, it's 1000 times better. I also changed the website width. Thank you so much for your help! I think my website looks reasonably well now??? (althought I can still improve a bit; better logo for example)

I've dealt with these types of sites before. Your disclaimer isn't going to cut it. You need something like

"The information provided on this website is intended for educational purposes only, and should not be considered a replacement for the expert advice of a qualified health practitioner. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product and the information provided on this website is not intended to diagnose, treat, prescribe, cure or prevent any disease."

Thank you very much for your reply...

Fortunately I am not controlled by the FDA (so I won't need that FDA disclaimer, because I do not sell any products.)

My website does not sell any products.

It's purpose is really to help cancer patients. On the long term I do expect something in return ofcourse (donations). These donations are then used to advertise my site even more.

I recently received an email from a person he is really following this "protocol". He is using 2000 mg Quercetin + 2000 mg Vitamin C a day.

Hi,

I'm not sure whether I would try your cancer "cure" if I had cancer (because there is no real cure, someday the cancer will always come back). Maybe you should ad comments from cancer patients who tried your cure,

Good luck,

Danny

I would highly recommend following MJ advice about the FDA disclaimer. I know you don't sell a product, however if someone wants to really split hairs legally on this, you are making $ ( from some source, ads, donations etc ) from the information it's self. Even if you turn around and put the $ back into the site - it still counts.

I say better safe then sorry.
