    Hello,
I'm looking for a recommendation for software (or a service) that can provide our company with real-time web stats. When a customer calls us we'd like to know how he was refered to our web site (many times the person doesn't remember and just guesses. ..which of course is no good) So we'd either like to go in and view his/her individual web stats, or have a web analytics tool which logs individual visitors, the time they visited, and referring sites.

I hope this makes sense ...and there is such a (reliable) tool out there.
    Thank you!
    Beth

Yes, indeed there are a few free web analytics tools. The most impressive and free one is Google Analytics. Unfortunately, google now doesn't allow to sign-up for it due to overwhelming number of sign-ups. But donot worry there are other tools like webalizer, awstats which are free and can be used. My good luck I am using google analytics on my web site. Now, I can track my visitors as well as keyword conversions and other search engine performance. Being a SEO requires this tool wink. You can read about google analytics in my website. I have it on my blog. I hope this helps.

    Hi there Beth,

I would reccomend L10HC. It is a hitcounter which gives you real time statistics about your website. For private domains they offer it for free, companies do get charged for the programm. Search for L10HC on google and it will be the first link.

    Hope this will help.
