Hello all. Thanks in advance for any response.

I am new to the SEO bus and have a first client. I want a piece of software that can help me benchmark where his website is now. Such as:
- Where he stands amongst competition for specific keywords
- What the ocmpetition's PR is
- Who links in to the competition
- Anything else that would help me a draw a line in the sand that i can point back to when his results ultimately are better (do to my work)

i can piece this together using various tools, but haven't found anything that would do it all for me once plugging in the variables.

any suggestions?

There really is not any one tool that will do everything that you're asking. There are tools that will deliver a "ranking report" for certain URLs and keywords, but most software requires that you identify "the competition" in order to keep tabs on them.

To be honest with you, there may be some tools out there to do some of the tasks but not any that I would really trust--and I certainly wouldn't use any automated means of checking rankings on a regular basis.

To do it right the first time, it should be done by hand (or at least do it using only a few of the automated tools like OptiLink).
