hello all.
i have read many forums and articales that Webpostiongold can be banned from search engines since it considered SPAM to check ranking using automatated program. Same thing here, WebCEO which seems to be a great tool to me, it can also check the ranking automatically.
May i have suggestion whether i can actually use these tools without worrying that my site may get banned.??
Please give some inputs..very confused here. some forum/articales said no problem. some posts simply say no no..avoid it...
since these progarm doesn't use google API - extensive query to check ranking among keywords does make sense to consider as spam , don't u think?
Need an accurate answer from the known/experienced one.
thank you
jim

I have read on numerous occasions that ranking progs can cause problems but if it were true all you would have to do with your competition is spend all day querying their search strings!
Just in case there is any cause for concern WebCEO uses 'Human emulation' for its Ranking option. This means it has a random interval between querying SE's that can be set manually.
On the WebCEO front don't be taken in by their Keyword tool as it uses data from, and I quote, "MetaCrawler.com, Kanoodle.com, Galaxy.com, MetaEureka.com and nine more regional search engines" (wherever they are!).
This means that, for example, whereas WebCEO says there are 880 searches a day for "bed and breakfast resource", WordTracker has it as only 5 and Overture as 1.8!! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that there is some seriously flawed extrapolation here.
I do like their Ranking and Optimisation tools though.
Hope this helps

I use WebPositionGold and although my ranking in Google dropped to nothing recently, this was due to the fact that Google changed they way they spider sites, or something.
I have been using WPG for 6 months now and find it a great program/tool to have.

i used to use webpositiongold but switch over to a self updating script and added my own keywords through the numerous free keyword tools.
the self updating script is { traffic equalizer } and i use digitalpoint to get my keywords pretty good search engine traffic thus far.

Please elaborate on the features that are better. I havn't heard of Page Promoter before. Is it a service or a downloadable tool?

"Just try Page Promoter, it' much better than WebCeo or WebPosition..."
Huh? I just glanced at that link and the first thing that struck me is what a big deal they make of automated search engine submission. Personally I'd *avoid* Page Promoter if that's an indication of their priorities.
Submission should be done manually, if at all. Submit (manually) to directories, but most SEs will find and index you naturally via inbound links.
As for WPG and WebCEO, both can be useful but neither can replace experience and dilligence. The ranking checks are useful, but should be used with care. WebCEO offers (I believe) a Google API option, and WPG has corrected an earlier bug which used to pass data which could help SEs identify the user's domain.
If you use any of these ranking checks it's wise to take precautions: use dial-up connections or proxy servers, uninstall Google toolbar and clear cookies before each run. Some of these are probably just paranoia and some may help ;-P
Don't use auto submission.
Don't take WPG PageCritic or WebCEO Optimisation Advice as gospell. There is far more to SEO than what is contained in any of these packages. The hints they give are a good starting point, but that's all.
People who swear by one or another of these packages or services are generally beginners who have a lot to learn.

I used Internet Business Promoter for my submissions because it allows me to do them semi-automatically. I decide which search engines and directories to submit to and the only thing the system really does is fill in the form information with my pre-formatted information i.e. title, url, keywords, etc. so I don't have to. But I am the one who ultimately looks at each of the submissions and hits the button not the software. I've been toying with WebCEO and WPG and when I saw the features in IBP for submissions I really liked how much more control I have over it. It doesn't feel like I'm just handing over the submissions to some autonimous tool and hoping it works.
I found WPG and WebCEO too clunky and well I can get most of the relevant info from IBP analysis of my top competitors etc.

mmm,
page promoter seem not ok: submission to more then 300 search engine is crap.
also submitwolf or webppostion are doing this.
I use this free seo toolkit. Its called optimizekit. It has a free plan but ofcourse you have to pay for the nice integrated tools. I use the premium plan with all tools in it. it helped me optimize my website urls in 7 simple steps. it tracks my se ranking, linkpopularity for more tehn 6 month now and my positions are grwoing and growing. yust downoaded the flash bases 3-d charts to impress my boss.

I use Dynamic Submission and BidMaximizer. They work fine but cost you some money.

i find it interesting that webposition.com doesn't have any history with google. no backlinks or PR
Does that mean their product doesn't work for them?
