Hi,
my first post.
We need to block users from specific countries from visiting our sites and would do an IP filter for that. Basically stop complete IP blocks from entering.
My question is.. will this affect your positioning on the Search Engines? Basically - would it affect the bots etc.?

It could be defined as cloaking but you will probably be fine.
