I used to do SEO full-time but then I turned my SEO business into an affiliate management consulting company, when SEO got too competitive.
Just curious... do any of you pro SEO's do affiliate marketing on the side? How many of you make more as an affiliate, doing SEO for your own pocket as opposed to doing SEO for clients and putting money in their pocket???
We pay a lot of our affiliates for various programs we manage $5,000 - $10,000 a month and even more. I know many affiliates that used to do SEO full-time and then switched, so just wondered about your experiences? Do you do some of both? If so what's the mix??? SEO for clients vs affiliate time.

I guess it depends on the time factor. Personally, I would love to develop more affiliate sites. I just don't have the time. I've been sitting on a series of hotel sites for a year now. That could spin off to localized affilitate leads.
I guess its like the mechanic that drives around in a crappy car. We don't have the time to work on our own projects.
