I dont know if the subject I chose is the right one for what I am talking about,
but it is hard for me to categorize it, since it is something Im still not doing
in my websites, and would like to start working on those issues.
I will try to explain as much as I can.
Lets say you have a site that sells several products.
There are 3-4 stages for purchasing that product.
your visitor first gets to the domain, next he can choose to enter the link
of the product he is interested in. if any. if he did so, he can now choose
to move on to the payment page.
But who knows, maybe only 30% of the visitors gets from the product review to
the order form? And maybe 50% of those that gets to the order form for some
reason decide not to go on and purchase?
How can I have better control over those issues? I know the basics of how it is
done, but I dont know about any terms, resources or any other material I can
use in order to study it. I would appriciate all the guidance and tips you
can get me in order to get me started.
I bet there are complex programs to handle this kind of things, and also
enough information about it on the net. I just dont know this area enough
and wouldnt know what to look for.
Maybe there are more factors I should take a look after that I dont know in
that area? For example, in my site, you have a couple of different links to
different products.
How will changing the description of the product will affect the clickthrough rate? yes, I am aware that log analyzers can do that. I am using sawmill for
that sort of things. but its not for the same purpose.
I am sure there are complex and serious applications and material made for
those cases. and would like to hear what you use and recommand.
Thanks.
