I have a web site selling balloons for a while. I was concern about passing addresses and want to use Secure Sockets Layer when getting customer information The problem is I use NOP free shopping that uses cookies. This leads to cookies placed by my unsecured server that can not be read on my secure server. My quick fix was to access the entire catalog via the secured server. I am wondering does this cause problems and confusion with customers via search engines . I am considering dropping SLL. I only gather address and shipping information and go thru Paypal’s secure site for credit cards. The question can I use my regular server instead putting the catalog on a secured server. Will this scare away customers.
