    Hi,
This is my first post on this forum, but I have heard that you guys on this forum can be very helpful. I have started a content website with some affiliate links (I will soon be adding more) and I was wondering about advertising? What do you think would be the best type to start with that wouldn't be too expensive (actually downright cheap!). Would I do better with PPC or Google ads? If PPC would work best, which one should I use. My site is about 2 1/2 months old. It might help if you looked at my site and gave me some suggestions. My site is an informational site on Human Growth Hormones and it can be found at: (url in profile).

Thanks for all your help and I'll be looking forward to some great suggestions from all of you.

    Sincerely,

    Alan Swanson

    Hey Uncle Al~

First of all GoogleAds is a PPC program. Overture is the other main PPC Company, provides sponsored ads for Yahoo, MSN, Alta Vista and Alltheweb to name just a few.

People have different views on which one is better. Google owns about 60% of all traffic, but they seem to be geared towards “male searchers, and more technical, where are Yahoo and MSN are more geared toward women and shopping.

It all depends on what products or services you want to sell or promote. I think Overture it a little easier for beginners to start with, where are Google is a little more complicated, when it comes to click-through-rates and average cost per clicks. With Overture, you see what others are willing to pay, and then you bid more if you want to be higher.

But they are both great and both can drive business and make you successful, but if you are bidding on the wrong terms it can be costly mistake to not consult a professional.

What about search engine optimization? What steps are you taking to build your natural listings? With 80% of web searchers using organic/natural listing, it is imperative to have a SEO plan in the works.

    Good Luck…
