I've been told that it is a good idea to have insurance for an affiliate site...but I haven't read (found) too much about it.What's the story? I don;t want to get sued for linking someone to a problem!!

Yes, it is a good idea to have business insurance. (I presuem you are talking about the site in your profile.)

Having well written Terms of Service posted on the site is a good idea as well. For the legalise, you may very well want to contact lawyer who is familiar with Web commerce sites to write the TOS, Privacy Policy and such for you. On the one hand, hiring someone at $200 per hour to type 2 or 3 pages may seem like a waste of money. However, remember that in the good ol' USA, anyone can sue anyone for anything. A fee hundred bucks now can save you a huge amount of grief and money later. The TOS, PP and whatnot should be pretty much boilerplate. A lawyer who has experience in this area should be able to whip this up very quickly and easily.
