I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with those freelance job sites. There seems to be millions of them but one thing they all have in common is that theres loads of bids for nearly every job ( sometimes over 20 ). Maybe im being lazy but it hardly seems wothwhile trying to compete plus everyone seems to vastly underquote? Any feedback appreciated.

Couldn't agree more. Particularly on the "underquoted" charge. If I wanted to work for free, there'd plenty of opportunities to do so... Nah, no good.
My 2 cents.

One other thing i have noticed is that most of the people replying dont seem to have English as their first language? So im guessing that most of the service providers arnt from Europe/America ?

The list of good freelancing sites is available at http://www.cityitsol.com/freelance.php if you want to go thru them and try some of them.
