    Hi,

Does anyone know the ins and outs of finding a seo-friendly content management system?

I have a few specific questions:

Does anyone know if MCMS (Microsoft Content Management Server) is search-engine-optimization-friendly?

Has anyone come up against anything that has hindered seo in using MCMS? I would be grateful to hear about any issues you have come up against.

Besides the following questions, are there other critical questions I should be asking cms providers?

-Does the CMS have an integrated re-write feature to convert dynamic urls into static urls?

-Does it support unique metatags for each page and are they easily modified?

-Can it be used without redirecting www.domain.com to, for example, www.domain.com/default.asp?

    Thanks very much.
    Puja

    Hi Jim,

Would you mind telling me what kinds of seo-friendly features you integrated into your own CMS?

I would be interested to know what you consider as "critical" seo-friendly elements to include, and what are the "helpful" elements.

    Thanks,
    Puja

Yes, the main trick of it is that whatever database format you use to store your date, when it comes time to "generate" your pages, you use XSLT. With xsl stylesheets, you can fine-tune and adjust your entire Website with the same ease that would go into fine-tuning a single page.
