Can anyone help me. I have an excellent idea for a spin off site to one of my sites. It involves selling site memberships. I am looking for a service that will enable me to take credit cards. The important qualifier here is that I am based in the UK not the US which seems to rule out a lot of services. It shouldn't be a problem taking money in dollars in fact it would be necessary as imagine most of my customers would be American.
Does anyone know of a suitable service provider.

There are a myriad of companies and in fact the cheapest way is to get the CC number in some secure way and get a local merchant to process it and give you the $$ or GBP. I have a number of clients who do it this way.

Have to admit, getting a merchant account in the UK is a real pain.
Despite offering a quite substantial financial guarantee, i found it almost impossible to find one that would accept us as they all claimed we have a very high chargeback risk.
Didn't know about protx though, and on first impressions they seem pretty good, will have to look more closely at them. Certainly will beat PayPal !!

I havne't actually heard of protc.com, I will have a look over it.
I would reccomend worldpay as they do have some great packages, I know of someone who runs subscriptions through worldpay and they don't have any problems.
thanks
