i'm new to all of this. i'm being hosted by godaddy.com. i can access statistics that they compile in my stats folder, but would like to look at the log directly. does anyone know where that's located or whether my access is restricted?
thanks.

I would suggest you contact godaddy direct for this information.

The stats log is usually located in a sub directory of the directory above the public one (i.e the one where your web pages are located).
So, you may FTP your web pages to:
/home/yourdomain/www/
so it could be located in:
/home/yourdomain/logs/
As affinity says, you'll need to contact your web hosting company to know for sure (or it may be in their online manual/instructions)

you need to go to www.yoursite.com/stats
The info is pretty basic but if you pay for Traffic Facts through godaddy.com which is like $1.95/month, you can get more detailed information.
I am just learning about weblogs myself and my site is currently hosted with godaddy.com.
