Urchin is the best, but it requires that your host install serverside software. Lacking that... Clicktracks is a very good and easy to use alternative http://www.clicktracks.com/

Best of luck

You should have access to your log files. If so, then you don't necessarily have to pay for something; you can use Analog or AWStats to check your stats.

There are a ton of options out there depending on your needs.

hitbox has a free (with ads) version and a paid (no ads) version stat program that is quite robust, though not as good as clicktracks.

eXtreme tracking also has a nice little free version that many use.

Both require you to place a bit of code on the pages you wish tracked.

If you have FTP access to your logs then there are some download options that you run on your computer that range from free to cheap to not so cheap depending on your needs.

If you *Google* some terms like 'website tracking', 'website log stats' and such you will find a mind boggling amount of options wink

If you have CGI access, and access to your logs I'd put in another good word for AWStats. We've been using them both for our own needs (12 - 14 sites) as well as for our hosting customers, who seem to love it. It can be found at 'awstats.sourceforge.net'

We have been through many stats programs and find that they all do well hits, ok on page views, not so well on visits. We have used:
wusage
awstats
analog
webalizer
123loganalyzer
urchin
webtrends

Of these we like urchin the best for day to day tracking and webtrends for reporting. Webtrends used to be great but the new version uses a very, very, very slow system that runs via a browser.

If you need stats to solicit advertisers, I suggest using something like Urchin or Webtrends with cookie and user-agent/ip based tracking.
