I recently submitted my new site to other sites/directories and other topical places. How long does it take to derive the benenfit of those valuable link. Most of the links are hight quality highly relevant.

When I do a backlink check in google now, it only shows 1 link to my own site.

You have to wait quite a bit, doesn't take a couple of seconds to show up in google. That would be quite awesome if it did...I can dream can't I? :P

You have to wait quite a bit

You generally have to wait a few weeks until you see any rankings benefits. It depends on the link, though. The higher PageRank of the page where your link appears the quicker it tends to "show up".

If you submit to a bunch of directories, the site will be accepted at various times, depending on the editors choice. The rate at which the links are recognised by search engines will vary according to many factors, including how frequently the directory is spidered.

Many of those links will NEVER appear in Google, as they choose not to reveal every link - but they should eventually appear via Google Analytics. but whether they appear or not, your site will benefit as soon as Google assimilates the new information. If there's any benefit to be had, of course smile

It takes some time for those backlinks to show up on the link:www.yourdomain.com search. Are you set up on google sitemaps?

The link operator only usually shows about 5% to 10% of the URLs that Google actually knows about it.
