Hi members I'm a newby and have never used forums before I would like to know how to add an <alt> tag to an "swf" file I dont know if this is possible.

Hi Roy,

How about creating a transparent button that covers the entire area of the movie, then make an "onMouseOver" action displaying the text box. I think that's the easiest way. You can't apply the <alt> tag to an <object>.

There is an addon to flash released by Macromedia, it's primary purpose is to make flash accesible to blind users.

The tool is an ActionScript component that parses a caption XML file and displays the caption data within a Flash presentation. A caption XML file can be most easily created using software such as MAGpie, a free multimedia captioning application. That's probably overkill for what you're after.
