Neither of the following expressions work:

  • $replace =~ s/href="\/[#]"/href="[#]"/ig;

  • $replace =~ s/href="\/\#"/href="\#"/ig;

Neither expression works for me. I've tried everything I can think of, but can't get it to work. I know the # sign is a commented character indicator, but there must be some way to escape it so that it works on my own local copy of perl on my computer.

OK, sorry about double posted subjects. "can't" with apostrophe (for thread subject) was giving me problems and I didn't realize at first that I could edit the subject.
