Ok, I've installed Imago's Googlifier on my site; unfortunately, I don't think it's working correctly. Have any of you optimized your sites (PHP sites)...if so, what have you done to it? I need some ideas because apparently there are quite a few problems with the default PHP setup causing some problems for search engines. I have a post in a dif forum where ppl offered suggestions:

Any of you have any suggestions for PHP optimization? I don't think Google is looking at pages other than my index.

I read the other thread, g1smd covered the central issue, which is that php is a server side scripting language that outputs HTML. I took a quick look at your site, and it's using query strings in the urls.
The question isn't about php optimization, it's about having search engine friendly urls, I assume anyway. I'm not familiar with googlifier, but it sounds frightening to me to be honest in terms of adding complexity.
When you do search engine optimization of a dynamic site [all dynamic sites have these issues, it's not related to what scripting language you are using], the question is how to create a natural looking url that will be easy for search engines to spider. This involves two steps: first, the internal scripting of the site must output natural looking urls, no query strings that is. No SID type get query strings must be used if cookies are turned off, that's critical.
Second, you have to implement mod_rewrite on those urls to write them back to the form that the scripting of the site needs. I don't see how any 3rd party software package can achieve this safely or efficiently, but there's always a first time.
